Allan Pineda Lindo, known professionally as apl.de.ap, is a Filipino musician based in Los Angeles, California. He is a founding member of the hip hop group Black Eyed Peas. With them, he has been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards; the band won six awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album.

Born Allan Pineda Lindo in Angeles City, Philippines. His African American father, an airman at Clark Air Base, left after his birth. His mother farmed sweet potatoes and rice. He traveled an hour each way to school by jeepney.
Came to the U.S. at 14, adopted by Joe Ben Hudgens, an American lawyer matched through the Pearl S. Buck Foundation. He'd first visited at 11 for treatment for nystagmus, an eye condition causing involuntary movement. Met will.i.am at John Marshall High School in Los Angeles.
Co-founded the Black Eyed Peas with will.i.am and Taboo. Started as an underground hip-hop act in Los Angeles. Their first two albums were critically respected but commercially modest.
