Ferruccio Lamborghini was an Italian automobile designer and industrialist who created Lamborghini Trattori in 1948 and Automobili Lamborghini in 1963, a maker of high-end sports cars in Sant'Agata Bolognese.

1948 Event

Founded Lamborghini Trattori. He built tractors from surplus military hardware left behind by the war. Italy's postwar agricultural boom made him rich.

1959 Event

Opened a factory building oil burners and heating systems. Later expanded into air conditioning. By now he owned several Ferraris.

1963 Event

Founded Automobili Lamborghini after a dispute with Enzo Ferrari over the clutch in his Ferrari 250 GT. Ferrari told him to stick to tractors. So he built a car company to prove him wrong.
