Li Keqiang was a Chinese politician and economist who served as Premier of China from 2013 to 2023 and was the second-ranking member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s Politburo Standing Committee from 2012 to 2022.

Became Premier of China. Second in the party hierarchy after Xi Jinping. Pushed market-oriented economic reforms and the "Li Keqiang Index," an alternative GDP measure using electricity consumption, rail freight, and bank lending.
